Recently while buying ORS I’ve spotted some other brands of ORS (oral re hydration sachet) other than the commonly used… its Peditral ORS.
I did some quick internet research and found out that only Peditral ORS is manufactured according to WHO (World Health Organization) prescribed ORS formulation.
Peditral ORS comes only in 2 flavours; orange and lime.
When buying ORS the price of one sachet can vary in different drug stores, but the usual range is from Rs. 17 to 27.
So next time even if you are in a hurry to buy ORS make sure its Peditral ORS.
Other liquids that can be effective in diarrhea:-
1. 7up/ sprite but not cold
2. Gatorade
3. Homemade sugar and salt solution
